Why Whalon Lake?
A quaint lake providing perfect Kayaking ops for the young First Time Kayakers and a gentle 2-mile loop trail around the lake for hikers. For biking enthusiasts, you can hit the iconic DuPage River Trail stretch to Knoch Knolls park.

How to Plan your visit?

• Hop in a car and set your GPS here.

• Run through the emergency checklist.

• Rent the Kayaks here.

• For biking enthusiasts, choose the paved DuPage River Trail – it stretches for 30 miles over Will and DuPage county. You can enjoy few miles of sub-section and even bike all the way to Knoch Knolls park.

We had booked several single and tandem kayaks which got launched swiftly from the shore.

There are a couple of lake islands at Whalon. One of them had a reposeful Great White Egret.

The entire lake shimmered under soft late summer sun.

A few geese were floating alongside.

Post the kayak, you can take the easy trail around the lake or bike on the DuPage River Trail. We did the out-and-back bike trail with the kids.

That’s it!
