Why Whalon Lake?
A quaint lake providing perfect Kayaking ops for the young First Time Kayakers and a gentle 2-mile loop trail around the lake for hikers. For biking enthusiasts, you can hit the iconic DuPage River Trail stretch to Knoch Knolls park.

• Hop in a car and set your GPS here.

• Run through the emergency checklist.

• Rent the Kayaks here.

• For biking enthusiasts, choose the paved DuPage River Trail – it stretches for 30 miles over Will and DuPage county. You can enjoy few miles of sub-section and even bike all the way to Knoch Knolls park.

We had booked several single and tandem kayaks which got launched swiftly from the shore.

There are a couple of lake islands at Whalon. One of them had a reposeful Great White Egret.

The entire lake shimmered under soft late summer sun.

Post the kayak, you can take the easy trail around the lake or bike on the DuPage River Trail. We did the out-and-back bike trail with the kids.
