Scenic Overlook and Hiking at Greene Valley Forest Preserve, Naperville

Why Greene Valley?
Only 2 words – Scenic Overlook! The views from the highest publicly accessible point in the DuPage County are simply imperial. You can even catch a glimpse of the Chicago skyline or one of the several model glider planes being launched from the hill. You can park all the way to the top of the hill, so no hike is needed to catch the views.

After deploying the car at the parking lot conveniently nestled at the top of the hillside, we were astonished the see the 360-degree views.

Not every day you get to gaze at the Chicago skyline from the burbs

We took a little stroll to reach the other end of the hill.

And had some choices to make in the process…

After some reposeful moments at the corner of the hill concurring with the adage that the best things in life are free, we headed back to the mundane routine of life.

Be careful, the overlook gates close at 6 PM, literally!

We were short of time to try out the hikes but based on the online reviews, would recommend ‘White Oak’ trail.

That’s it!
